Town Hall with State Fire Marshal

October 18 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Free

Join us Friday, October 18th for the next installment in our new Town Hall series, an effort to increase communication from the community of architects with the officials who work diligently to manage and protect our built environment.

Held at the Center for Architecture and Design, this discussion will include representatives from the State Fire Marshal’s office. With lunch and discussion hosted from 12:00-1:30 PM, the Town Hall will provide an opportunity to hear more about this office, how architects and the SFM office can better work together, and ask questions of the representatives. Representatives include:

Cindy Obier, DCL SR. Specialist [Plan Review]
Laura Patterson – Architect, NCARB, LEED AP [Plan Review]
Ashley Rodrigue – Public Affairs Director
Jerry Melanson – Major [Inspections]
Henry Rayborn – Lieutenant [Inspections]

The public officials, elected and appointed, who govern our built environment are an important part of the ecosystem of architectural practice. AIA New Orleans will engage local and state officials in open dialogue about legislation and processes related to the practice of architecture. AIA Members are encouraged to join the discussion.

AIA members are encouraged to submit questions for review by the State Fire Marshal, in preparation for the meeting.

Questions can be submitted here!

The AIA New Orleans is dedicated to helping members pursue their professional development through educational programming and observing projects in progress. This event is only open to AIA and Associate AIA Members. Become a member today at aia.org/join to be a part of this event and enjoy other professionally-focused programming.
