AIA New Orleans is pleased to offer AIA members an opportunity to learn about Energy Efficient Glazings presented by PPG Performance Glazings.
One of six presentations given at the AIA Texas Convention, PPG Performance Glazings is pleased to present Energy Efficient Glazings! Pooling from knowledge on local building codes and ComCk, presenter Deron Patterson will relate relevant energy codes to glass design, and discuss the direction energy codes are heading for Louisiana. Also addressing the state's requirements to adhere to ASHRAE 2004 energy code, Mr. Patterson's presentation will address:
· How low-e coatings work
· The differences between “passive” and “solar control” low-e coatings
· How the energy, environmental and economic benefits of low-e glass have been quantified
· The energy impact of various low-e coated glass through simulation modeling
